Sales and Marketing Manager (EMEA)

Data Innovations Europe, part of the world’s largest and most successful clinical and blood laboratory Middleware Company is currently seeking a Sales and Marketing Manager. This position’s primary responsibilities are to develop, maintain and execute on the company’s sales and marketing strategy. Preferred location is Brussels. The Sales and Marketing Manager is expected to work independently, by relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan an accomplish goals while requiring little direct supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales plans and market assessments, including identifying potential customers, up-sell opportunities  prospective contacts and Business Partner development
  • Establish, develop, maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential accounts for the Company's middleware products
  • Establish and manage the delivery of corporate sales and marketing goals and expectations
  • Lead and direct the work of the  Sales and Marketing team and ensure team is appropriately staffed with adequately trained professionals
  • Responsible for direct handling of client accounts in assigned geographic regions, for either direct (end-user) or indirect (through Business Partners) inquiries
  • Ensures that organizational goods and services consistently meet client needs by utilizing technical knowledge of product offerings to support and generate sales
  • Assess and identify potential application of company products or services by creating solutions that meet needs of existing and new customers
  • Ensure the management of client expectations through regular meetings and interactions, which could include frequent on-site visits
  • Establish and maintain effective Sales and Marketing procedures to maximize resource utilization, revenue generation and customer satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales and Marketing and Customer Service teams to perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: handling customer enquiries, generating sales quotations, processing orders, preparing correspondence, processing support renewals, participating in trade shows, conducting customer demonstrations, conducting business partner sales training 
  • Develop and maintain an expert level knowledge of the use and functionality of the Company’s middleware products, its associated modules and the laboratory industry
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fluent written and spoken English, French and at least one other language used in the Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) region.  Additional language skills are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of medical/clinical laboratory workflow operations
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others
  • Ability to learn and comprehend medical and scientific information
  • Ability to learn new products and incorporate into existing offerings
  • Proven track record of maintaining customer satisfaction and sales accomplishments
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term business relationships
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Persuasive Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to successfully manage many complex prospective customers/Business Partners simultaneously
  • Strong networking and executive selling skills
  • Ability to follow DI’s policies, procedures and system usage practices
  • Satisfy travel requirements

Education and/or Experience
Diploma from an institution of higher learning and at least 5 years of experience in the in vitro diagnostic field, such as lab technician in clinical or industrial laboratory, or experience in sales/support with an LIS/LIMS or IVD device vendor. 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of telephone communication, keyboarding, and computer.

Preferred skills and experience:
In addition to the above requirements, the ideal employee/candidate will have experience with the following:

  • Licensed Medical Technologist
  • Experience with Regulatory Compliance
  • Previous experience using Data Innovations’ products/services

Supervision Level
This person reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible for leading and directing the work of the Sales and Marketing team.
